"I longed for the sincerity of painting friends and family with an unguarded intimacy. Something domestic, vulnerable, and authentic."
This desire to make a candid observation drives my most recent work, which is inspired by many years in the life drawing room. While I love and respect all the models I have had the privilege to draw, over time I grew dissatisfied working from a posing model. I want to look at people not for what they could be, but who they are—what we look like when we are not being watched."
